Brainspotting is a form of psychotherapy that uses eye position to identify and process traumatic memories and experiences, with the goal of helping the client release stored trauma and emotional pain.
-
EMDR is a psychotherapy approach used to treat trauma-related mental health conditions like PTSD. The therapy involves recalling a traumatic memory while engaging in sensory stimulation, with the goal of processing the memory in a safe way and reducing negative emotions and physical reactions. EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories and improve mental health.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, is a psychotherapy that helps people manage mental health problems by changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It involves setting goals, identifying negative thought patterns and behaviours, and changing them through cognitive restructuring and behavioural activation techniques.
-
Gestalt Expressive Arts Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that combines creative expression with the principles of Gestalt therapy. It emphasizes present-moment awareness and self-expression to develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth. The therapy can treat various mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders.
-
Schema Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with elements from other therapies, with the aim of helping the client identify and change maladaptive schemas and create healthier ways of thinking and behaving.
-
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term psychotherapy that emphasizes finding solutions to current problems. It is goal-oriented, focuses on building upon the client's strengths and resources, and encourages the client to try new behaviours or ways of thinking. SFBT can treat anxiety, depression, and substance abuse; and is suited for clients who are motivated to change.
-
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on improving communication and relationships. It analyzes three ego states (Parent, Adult, and Child) to help clients become more aware of their patterns of communication and improve their emotional well-being. TA is used to treat anxiety, depression, and relationship problems; and to improve communication and teamwork in organizational and educational settings.
-
Gottman Couple Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping couples improve their communication and relationship skills. Angie also adapts techniques from CranioSacral Therapy (CST), Somato-Emotional Release (SER), BrainGym and Kinesiology as a part of her tools to use in therapy.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch method of detection and correction of restrictions in the craniosacral system while Somato-Emotional Release (SER) helps to release the emotional imprint of stress and trauma. Both CST and SER are considered alternative therapies.
